What these checks can—and cannot—tell you

The server sends a health report about every 30 seconds. It checks Plex, available resources, media storage, and network reachability. An independent check reaches Plex from outside the home network. Updates older than two minutes are marked unavailable.

Buffering must persist across checks before it raises a playback warning. Playback remains in recovery for five minutes after a detected issue. This catches shared problems without treating every playback start as an outage.

A successful check is not a guarantee for every viewer. Brief stalls, device problems and routes to individual households can escape these checks. The page reports the evidence; it does not automatically blame an ISP. Usernames, IP addresses and viewing history are never shown here.

This page is hosted off-site, so it can remain available when the Plex server’s internet connection is down.
